A new attraction gifted to the people of Christchurch by a popular singing artist, Yusuf Islam (also known as Cat Stevens) is bringing joy to people who ride on it.

The Peace Train was donated to the people of Christchurch after the March 2019 terrorist attack which resulted in 51 deaths.
The multi-coloured four carriage plus engine electric train chugs through South Hagley Park from the Netball Centre on Hagley Avenue every first and third Sunday of the month from Spring 2022 until the end of April 2023 between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
The red caboose is wheelchair accessible and allows for one wheelchair user and their companion.
