Those of us who live with disability regularly interact with a variety of Government ministries, agencies and organisations who handle our personal information. It is up to us to be aware of and understand how that information is collected, used and disclosed and what our responsibilities are to protect the information that we provide to others.
The role of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) is to better protect the privacy of individuals. This week (8-14 May 2023) marks Privacy Week, an annual event organised by the OPC in conjunction with Privacy Awareness Week which is organised by the Asia Pacific Private Authorities.
A series of free webinars covering a wide range of subjects are being held by the OPC. To register for the webinars, times and topics can be found on the OPC’s website at www.privacy.org.nz
